Custom Inlay Poker Chips
Inlays are the most common form of custom poker chips among non-casinos. These inlays can be very intricate. Customizing your linlay is a high quality, but cost effective method of customizing poker chips. Custom Inlays can be ornately designed and may even look better to the typical player than their more expensive ceramic counterparts. You will be able to choose your edge design from the different chips listed below. Chips may vary by weight, color, and the mold style. The inlay is completely customizable and may display your company name, logo, card room, initials, denomination or whatever you choose to customize your chip. The custom inlay is an extremely cool concept that allows you to take an existing molded chip and customize the middle inlay to achieve the look and feel that you want. These custom inlay chips will look great and will keep people from bringing outside chips into your game.
Below are some examples of custom inlay chips.

Custom Inlay FAQs
Why would I want to customize my chips?
People customize their poker chips for a couple different reasons. First, customizing your chip set allows you to decide what your chips look and feel like. Being able to choose the makeup of the chips(ceramic, composite, clay) is important because it affects the feel and weight of the chip. Also, depending on which kind of customization you choose, you can make your chips look however you want. Second, it provides security to your home game or local tournament. Customized chips protect against people bringing in their own chips that match the standard chip sets many people have.
What is the advantage of custom inlay?
Custom inlay poker chips are made of a clay composite. The feel and composition of these poker chips is similar to those found in casinos around the world. They are weighted from 8-14 grams each, depending on the chip design you choose. The heavy weight and clay-like feel creates the illusion of a casino card room no matter where you are playing. The custom inlay chips are the middle of the road when it comes to customizing your poker set. They are cheaper than ceramic chips, but you can customize the entire inlay of each chip. They are a great combination of price and design.
Who creates the design?
You! At the very least you will tell us what you want the chips to look like. We offer artwork assistance in any phase of the chip design. You choose how involved you want to be in the process. You can design the entire chip yourself, or give us an idea and see what we come up with. Your level of involvement is up to you. The final say, of course, is always yours.
What can I customize on the chip?
The inlay is available for customization on these clay composite chips. To start, you must choose the edge design that you prefer. If you prefer a lighter chip, then you can choose a template such as the 2 Stripe, 5 Spot or the T-Pro. If you are a fan of heavier chips, we offer our standard template or our King's. You choose the color of each chip, the inlay, the edge design, the denomination and the breakout. You will decide what your poker game looks like.
Below are the edge designs available for customization.
What are these chips made of?
These are made of a clay composite. Contrary to popular belief, no gaming chip going as far back as the 1950s has been 100% clay. These clay chips are a composition of materials more durable than clay alone. At least some percentage of “clay” chips is of an earthen material such as sand, calcium carbonate, chalk and/or clay. For the heavier weighed variety of clay composite chips, the center of the chip has a metal disc underneath the clay composite to balance the chip and to give the chip a heavier, more substantial feel.
How much do the chips weigh?
These chips will weigh anywhere from 8 to 14 grams each depending on the mold design you choose. The weight for each chip is displayed in the image above.
How long will they last?
The average clay in a home environment should last from 1-10 years depending on the amount of play.
Are these like casino chips?
Yes. These are similar to many casino poker chips. Not all casinos use clay composite, so they may not be like the chips you are used to, but they are high quality.
How are these different than casino chips?
The process used to make these chips is a trade secret, and varies slightly by manufacturer, most of them being relatively expensive and time consuming per chip. The primary difference between clay casino chips and our custom inlay chips is the cost. Many casinos pay $1-$1.25 per chip, when they choose to use clay chips on their tables. You are saving a significant amount when ordering though us. The average casino poker chip weighs between 9.5 and 10.5 grams each. We offer clay composite chips that way either 8 grams, 11.5 grams, or 14 grams. The advantage of the heavier weights is that they stack a bit better, and have a weightier more substantial feel when in play. A casino clay quality chip will be more perfected and have very few if any blemishes on its finish and composition. Our clay composite chips may have some minor blemishes, since they are mass produced in large quantities, the QC process is not as formal or detailed. To the average player, the differences in perfection would be immaterial.
How much do they cost?
See pricing above.
What does chip design cost?
We actually offer 30 minutes of free artwork for every $200 spent. So 5,000 chips, which cost $950, would come with 10 hours of design work for free. If extra artwork is needed, we charge $50 an hour to complete the design.
If this isn’t the chip for me, which one is?
These chips may not be right for everyone. Maybe you prefer the feel of a ceramic chip, or are looking for something a little more affordable. The next step down is the hot stamp and the next step up is the ceramic chip. The hot stamp features clay composite 8.5 gram chips - 14 gram chips that have a blank inlay onto which you can place letters, number, or a logo/image by using a foil and a dye stamp to press it into the chip. The ceramic chip is fully customizable and has that unmistakable gritty casino feel. To check out our ceramic page, click here. To see our hot stamp page, click here.
